Dear Delta Kappa Gamma Sisters,
The current events with the coronavirus have us all unsettled. It is important that we follow the best guidelines and try to stay home as much as possible. Of course, hand washing is of very high importance.
That said, continuing to pass on the same guidelines in various formats, really causes more disruption rather than calming our fears.
As your state President, I am asking that you stop using the DKG contacts to send on facts, suggestions and so on about how to cope with this outbreak. There is plenty of good information already out there, and I can’t imagine that there is a member anywhere that has not heard it many times.
INSTEAD,
Let’s lighten up and get outside, air out the house. Exercise?
Just think what a wonderful celebration we can all enjoy when the unknown is past, when we know the outcome, when we survive and move on.
Wishing you all - mild or no symptoms and some happy times with family.
Most Sincerely, Your Colorado DKG State President, Leila Koenig

INSTEAD,
- Use your time to contact the older members of your chapters. Make sure that they have the supplies, food, etc. that they need to take care of themselves so they don’t have to make trips to the store.
- Use this time to entertain and enjoy your children and grandchildren.
- Bring our some of those craft projects you have been meaning to get to.
- See if any of your actively teaching members have papers to grade or other classwork to get done before schools open up again.
- Visit your older members before they are quarantined. What a great time to record some of their best memories of DKG and teaching!
- Write notes to family members, military service members, older folks in assisted living.
- Start your Spring Cleaning.
- Bake something wonderful.
