Happy November, dear Sisters! This is a Fall message as both September and October just got away from me. We had a great Fall meeting in Pueblo October 16th; and I am getting my Chapter visitation schedule organized...finally! I sent the preliminary draft to Chapter Presidents last week. Once again, if you don’t see your chapter listed, I may not have received your yearbook or your schedule of meetings for this year, so please get those to me as soon as possible and thank you.
One of my focuses at this point in time is the Summer Leadership Conference; I hope to connect with Brenda Kloberdanz (Sterling) and Kristie Benson (Julesburg) this month and nail down the location for the Conference and the dates. Stay tuned for that information!
I want to also express my gratitude for so many things and so many people who have supported and continue to support me as I make this journey. The Presidents Training in Atlanta really focused on the TEAM approach, and I want to reinforce that for all of you at the Chapter level; there may be some frustration with challenges in communication, challenges in getting members to step up, and challenges that come specifically with COVID, which we have lived with now for almost two years. Let me assure you that the sheer joy of being together in person at the Convention, at the Fall Board meeting has been worth the extra precautions---sanitizer, masks, etc---you are familiar with the drill. When you get frustrated, take a moment to find something or someone to be grateful for; I find that I am doing that more and more with a busy substitute schedule, a busy family life, and gee, scheduling those times for fun.
International has been in touch about a speaker for Summer Leadership; I have submitted a couple names, but cannot get assigned until we have our dates---once again, that will happen this month. I will probably schedule a Chapter Presidents zoom meeting for post-Thanksgiving just because you all should have focused time with your families and friends; I also don’t want to interfere with those Holiday parties that start at the beginning of December. Our zoom meetings have lasted 45 to 50 minutes, and thanks to those who have attended. We will revisit the times in the New Year.
Once again, I am grateful for you all and for the opportunity to lead Colorado DKG for the next two year. Have a safe, warm and wonderful November! Remember to vote! And lastly, remember to be kind to yourself and others...we are all doing the best that we can.
